Only truth will help to set me free…

There were a lot of things that had to be brought to my attention. Things that had to be addressed and worked on. I realize that now.  I believe more and more that the events that occurred were supposed to happen the way they did. Maybe there is something out there, waiting for me. The process had to begin with the pain and hurt I was caused.

This holiday wasn’t really difficult. I won’t lie, I did think about my family. It’s my first holiday away, separated from those whom I shared a life with. But I didn’t dwell, and that’s important. I didn’t let it break my spirit or make me feel any negative thoughts. I wasn’t chained to the pain and hurt. I guess I am growing and maturing, being molded into the man I am supposed to be.

Sometimes we have to take a look at our situations and make no excuses. Take a REAL look. We also have to be truthful to ourselves. No one’s perfect, everyone has flaws. I did. No, I DO.

What’s important is to take all of the lessons and things that are shown to you, then make the necessary changes, and march on.  Make yourself a better person. Rise above all of the nonsense and be the person you are supposed to be.

There must be serenity…

Peace, tranquility, and also serenity is a must in order to heal and change. Life gets hectic. Things get thrown at you from every angle. Instead of letting all those things get to you, stopping, taking a deep breath, and dealing things in a calm manner is the way to go.

Yeah, I know. But why make things more stressful on yourself? I’d rather deal with things in a civilized, calm manner, than just adding fuel to the fire. And yes, I was totally guilty. Another thing I needed to work on. And most of you do too.

So let’s train ourselves to take a deep breath from time to time, and let a tranquil, calm state of mind make all of those hard situations more peaceful. Because that’s what we want, right?

Somewhere there’s a reason…

There are things in life that we can’t control. Things we don’t like. That’s a given. So why is it when things do go wrong, we never try to see what we are being shown, or what we need to learn to move on to the next step? It’s almost as if we get this sort of arrogance, we think we know the answers when we really don’t.

There are so many sayings, or quotes. When one door closes, another opens, Everything happens for a reason, etc, etc. But do we really stop and think about it? Do we limit ourselves and not see, not learn? We would be better off if we took the time and looked at things that way.

When things happen, that’s exactly what we have to do. Take on that mindset. Everything happens for a reason, even though we can’t see it at the time. Key is to hold on and be patient. I know some of us have a problem with that. I know I did.

But, Eventually the reason, and most times the solution, will be revealed. I know in my case, taking on a more positive mindset has helped me a TON. I won’t lie, there’s good days, and bad days, and it doesn’t come easy at times, but without acceptance, or any effort, you or I won’t get anywhere.

Can’t get away, I swear, I’m gonna break…

Often times we all feel as though we are not going to make it through certain situations in our lives. That was true for me. Sometimes everything seemed to go wrong, and I thought I was going to lose it. I’m sure all of you feel the same way at times.

Hey, we are all human, we all have good days and bad days. Yeah I know we should be positive and make things better and all of that, but I also think we should be a little realistic too. Life CAN be beautiful, but it’s far from perfect. In fact, it’s not. It’s up to us to make it as perfect as we can for ourselves.

Just remember, you’ll struggle. I struggle at times. But like I said, it’s up to us to work with what we got, and MAKE all the bad things better, or more tolerable. We CAN make it though this journey called life. Don’t let your spirit be broken, get up when you get beaten down.

The Only Way To Get Away…Kill Your Pride…

We can be awfully stubborn at times. We get so used to the way things are, we don’t think change is necessary. Our way of life, our existence is so embedded, anytime something disrupts it, we get defensive, cranky, angry, not willing to budge. No compromise.

You have to be taken out of your comfort zone sometimes in order to advance. Sometimes you just have to let go. You can’t control everything. You have to realize that even though you do have power within you, there are just some things that aren’t up to you. We need to humble ourselves.

Sure, you can control SOME aspects to a point, but some things are not for us to control. That is something we need to be aware of. If it’s something we can’t control, we have to be able to put ego, or the urge to control, aside and let life do it’s thing…

No need for tomorrow, when you can’t find today…

So many of us get stuck in all of the negativity that happens to us. We become stagnant, not progressing. Does that make any sense? I’m guilty of it, but when you think about it, it doesn’t make any sense. When something happens, doesn’t life move on? It continues while you anchor yourself to whatever is wrong. And when you’re anchored down, you’re not going anywhere.

Another thing we do is we always search for answers. Nothing wrong with that. But we always search for answers to the wrong questions. We should ask ourselves what we need to do to get past certain situations, what we need to do to progress, what we need to do to make ourselves, and our lives better.

We need to pay attention to our lives, and what we are being shown and taught. Sometimes answers you seek have always been there, but it was clouded by all of the negativity. Stop, and let your vision be clear.  If we don’t focus on what is going on right now, how can we be ready for whats in store for us in the future? We need to make our now the best we can, so our tomorrow will be the all the better.

No, life won’t wait for you, my friend…

It’s funny how we all want or expect change, but we don’t take any kind of initiative or action. It’s almost like we expect things to just fall in our laps. We sit around, dwelling on the negative and waiting for things to change, but we don’t really put any effort into it. Remember, we are supposed to be a catalyst for all things positive in our lives. We need to be the spark that starts the flame.

Sure, we should just let things go, and let things happen, but at the same time we should learn to be more proactive. Life goes on even through all the bad times, so you either evolve and adapt for the better, or stay in the same mediocrity and pain and let yourself sink. I’d rather make the best of what I get dealt. No more pain or mediocrity.

So take out the bad, sad, and painful things and let them go. Don’t get caught up in all of that. It will weigh you down and doesn’t do you any good. We need to take it upon ourselves to start the healing process. We have a HUGE part in it. Leave all that other stuff behind, so YOU don’t get left behind…
