I know it’s been a while since I have posted anything here on the site, but, here I am. Alive and well. Well, as well as I am going to be for the moment. No, things are good (all things considered), but getting reintroduced to my form of civilization has been a little bit of a process. Alot has gone on, and will continue to do so, but, things are looking up.
The old self would have probably exploded, or have just given up by now, but I said old self. Gone are those days. Sure, I’m still working on things, but everyone should strive to be better, EVERYDAY, not just when it’s convenient, or when “things go wrong”. Do I still get stressed? Sure. I won’t lie. But the key is in how you handle the stress and how you look at all things looking for the positives, and for the lesson to be learned by your experiences.
So, mending a broken relationship, dealing with the joblessness and other related issues back here in the good ‘ol US of A, I still believe that in the end, it will all be better than it was before. And that’s what you, and everyone else should feel. Use the events in your life as stepping stones. Experience, learn, grow. What other alternatives are there? Be human. Be well…
“A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality.” – Winston Churchill

Well, so far, so good. However, like I’ve stated before, it’s a new beginning. In a sense, it’s “starting over”. There is a familiarity to all of it, but at the same time, there are adjustments to be made, and “re-learning”. Certainly things are different, and a few hurdles to get over, but, one thing at a time, one day at a time.
There are things currently going on that are not ideal, like still no job, and now problems with my car, but I am looking at the positives of it all, and not letting it get to me. So far, I believe that things have been falling into place and working out, and I am not going to abandon the new mindset and way of thinking. Does being inconvenienced suck? I won’t lie, it does, but what options do I have? The old way of thinking is NOT one of them.
We all have the power, the choice to make when it comes to certain things in life, and how we deal with them. It’s as if we get to a fork in the road. Which way are you going to go? You can choose to complain, whine, get angry, or you can take the negative, deal, and turn it into a positive. I really am done with the old way of thinking, it’s a road to nowhere….
“The first rule is to keep an untoubled spirit. The second is to look things in the face and know them for what they are. If you are pained by external things, it is not they that disturb you, but your own judgement of them. And it is in your power to wipe out that judgment now. Think of what you have rather than of what you lack. Of the things you have, select the best and then reflect how eagerly you would have sought them if you did not have them” – Marcus Aurelius

Things don’t usually happen overnight. So why do we usually expect them to? I’ve been guilty of that, and I’m sure most, no, all of you are guilty of that as well. Sometimes we just need to be more patient with things, and of course do our part to make things better, and the way we want them to be.
If things go wrong, fine. Let them go wrong. It’s just a part of life. It’s something we have to live with. Certain things may slow you down, hurt you, and just flat out suck, but once you do get hurt and fall to the ground, you need to stand, and learn to walk again.
Learn how to walk again and refuse to let things get in the way and stop you from getting to where you want to go, where you want to be. Refuse to give up, refuse to die. Take one step at a time, one day at a time…
“One day at a time–this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.” – Unknown Author
The way we look at things is very important in our existence. If we constantly look at things through negative eyes, everything around us becomes negative. On the contrary, if we look at everything with positive eyes, we see nothing, and create nothing but positive things.
All of us cling to things we shouldn’t. None of us can be any better if we don’t learn how to let go and move on. We can’t take what is out there for us if we refuse to move forward and get to that point. You can’t get to where you are being lead, if you keep your burdens, which weigh you down.
So let’s all continue to be better people. Let’s all continue to look at things in a positive light, even though yes, life will have it’s ups and downs. Rise, hold your head up, and get to where you need, and want to be.
“We imagine that we want to escape our selfish and commonplace existence, but we cling desperately to our chains.” – Anne Sullivan
What people don’t realize is that sometimes going through hard times or obstacles in life can be used to our advantage. We often turn them into something that holds us back, and just makes things worse for ourselves. Certain experiences in life should be viwed as lessons, as experiences that make us better people.
Going through the fire is only the beginning of turning us into something better. Metal needs to be put to flame in order to be turned into something else, and in the process, making it stronger, glass needs to be put into flame before it becomes a beautiful vase, coal under pressure becomes a diamond. I think you all know what point I’m trying to make.
We are ALL going to go through some sort of hell in our life. But taking the negative, learning from it and making it a positive is very important. It’s supposed to make us BETTER and STRONGER. So let’s all take advantage of those moments not giving up, and work on being better, overcoming everything that gets to us.
“Believe in Yourself and there will come a day when others will have no choice but to believe with you.” – Cynthia Kersey
Everyone wants an awesome life, right? I know I do. But it seems like most of us, me included, just kind of spin our wheels. And if something terrible happens, we fold, we give up. All hope is lost and we dig ourselves into a hole that gets increasingly harder to get out of.
We have to ask ourselves how bad do we want it? We have to ask ourselves if we are going to keep moving forward no matter what, or we’re just going to give up. What kind of person are you? Waht kind of person am I?
Do what you must to keep going. We do have to work at making our lives more bearable. It just doesn’t happen. Yes, things go wrong, or become less ideal than we would want, but key is to keep running, keep moving. The more we do that, the more sucess we will have. Like I’ve said before, you have to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run.
“Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.” – Author Unknown
Our outside world is usually a reflection of our inside world. What we project outward can, and usually come to pass. I know there are a ton of factors that get in one’s way, but sometimes, especially when things aren’t so great, stop and look around you, stop and take a good look at yourself.
Changes usually need to be made when it comes to improving our situations , or ourselves. Change is hard at times, but that’s part of life. Life moves and doesn’t stop for anyone. One problem we have is that we give up, lose hope, or maybe even expect improvements to fall in our laps. Doesn’t work that way.
So take a good look around and at yourself. Find the change that needs to be made, and begin improving the situation. We have to make effort in order to make improvements. Because let’s face it, if you don’t do anything, or take steps to find what needs change or improvement, you’ll get nowhere fast.
